At a glance

An offline-first workflow is being developed to synchronize permits with an internal API after reconnection.

The challenge

Operational permitting needs to remain usable when a device temporarily loses connectivity, while maintaining trustworthy permit records and approval states.

My role & decisions

I am architecting and developing a permitting application for permit preparation, saving, viewing, printing, and sign-off, including local offline use and synchronization after reconnection.

The solution

The intended workflow allows users to work with permit data offline and synchronize changes to an internal API when connectivity returns. The system is one of several applications supported by independently designed API backends.

Verified progress & results

Development is ongoing. Offline synchronization, approval integrity, and safety-related controls should be validated before any production claim.

What's next

Validate duplicate prevention, conflict handling, synchronization status, authorization, signatures, auditability, and the distinction between draft and approved permits under offline conditions.

What this work demonstrates

This project illustrates my approach to identifying operational needs, making pragmatic architectural and delivery decisions, and connecting software capabilities to business workflows.
